a getaway for two, please.

This past weekend our lovely folks’ watched our little man while we went to visit the plantation where we were married and a little town nearby. We stayed at the plantation overnight and my oh my, I think I could really just live there. All. of. the. time. It is like a dream, or something. I felt so blessed to be able to stay there and spend some time with my oh so awesome husband. We spent some time at the fall festivals in the area and visited antique stores (my fave.) I think that I ate about five (or maybe even ten) pounds of kettle corn as well. That stuff is just too good! Anywho, here are some pictures that I took while we were visiting!

Those colors!! One reason that I absolutely love autumn.

Just us being ourselves-haha.

We went to SO many different antique stores. There were little treasures everywhere just calling out my name.
But unfortunately, their price tags were a little much…

I really wanted to bring this home with us but I was afraid to even see what the asking price of it was…

We stopped and listened to these guys playing bluegrass for a while…it was so so good! I really would love to start playing the banjo.
(By the way, I’m not sure why that guy is glaring in the photo! Hmmm, maybe he was just trying to pose?)

Awesome colored doors usually always require having a picture (or two) taken!

Please feel free to notice the coffee I spilled all over my dress :)
Also, feel free to notice how small my eyes look in the morning (or anytime of the day really.) Yep, they are actually open in these pictures believe it or not!!

a quick hello.

As I type this, I am about half asleep…but you know, I just had to write a little somethin! All that I really want to say is that I am busy, a little overwhelmed, but thankful. I have so much (really, a lot) to catch up on but I am determined to get most of it done this week. This past weekend was wonderful…Jay and I had a two-day date and it was so relaxing and a lot of fun. We stayed at the plantation where we were married while Jay’s dad and my mom took turns watching Leland. What a blessing!! I am so thankful that we were able to celebrate our anniversary and I’m excited to post some pictures from our little visit. Anywho, I better get going because I plan on getting up WAY early, drinking a lot of coffee, turning on some worship music, and getting to work before the little one wakes up! That is my great plan anyway, but I betcha when that alarm clock goes off I’ll hit snooze 5 times….ha, we’ll see ;) Hope you had a beautiful weekend y’all!!

Love,
arielle

My goodness! I don’t even know where to begin….I’ve known Trish and Zach for a pretty long time. Really long. Like, they have been dating for over five years and I think I’ve known them both longer than that. They are getting married next spring and I am so excited for them! They both have such a heart for the Lord and it is so evident in their lives, definitely a beautiful thing. Trish shines has a contagious joy about her, which shows in these photos I think, as well. Anywho, I’m looking forward to their wedding and what the Lord has in store for their lives!! I had such a good time taking these photos and nope, the couch was not just lying in a field waiting for us. We brought it there :) And we also visited an old town which just so happened to match the oufits they brought perfectly. Woohoo! It was kinda hard to choose but here are a few of my favorites…

(A little playlist just because. Maybe I’ll make one for every new session :) )

Ah, gorgeous!!

One of my favorites…

Love it!!

styled children’s session.

About a month ago I did a fun little styled children’s session with Lindsay from Little One Love and The Spotted Goose. (It was great meeting you Lindsay!) All of the clothes are from their fall collection. Such cute little clothes! The little models did GREAT! I love the hipster glasses, plaid and other accessories that she brought along…

Cute, cute, cute!!

So sweet!

A few outakes….they were too funny!

Hope you all have a blessed Wednesday!

Two years ago…

Two years ago today I married my best friend on a plantation in the middle of Kentucky. We all stayed at the plantation for the weekend and I remember for weeks it hadn’t rained and when I woke up the morning of our wedding, it was pouring. We were supposed to be married under a big tree on the farm but plans were changed and we were married in the plantation’s carriage house. It was beautiful. I am glad that it rained now that I look back, because it was a very intimate and cozy-feeling kind of wedding. We’re heading back to the plantation this weekend to visit and I can’t wait! Married life is a beautiful thing. It is sometimes a hard thing. I think the Lord uses it to teach us, to mold us and shape us. It is something that reveals that not-so-lovely selfish part of me in so many ways and so many areas of life. I have learned to cook (as in spaghetti and boxed macaroni and cheese) and not shop quite so much :P If you would have told me years ago that I was going to be married at 19 (eek! I think I just gave away my age) I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But truthfully, I wouldn’t have it any other way. These two years have grown me, have blessed me, and I pray that the years coming will continue to do so. I am thankful to have others who we can look up to who have been married for much, much longer. What a blessing marriage is!

Some Updates!

I just wanted to thank you so much for all of your feedback and kind comments on my last post. While I have not been posting as much here the last month or so I have been busy working on some things. One of those things is my  new website. I have also moved all of my photography blog posts over to this blog and will be posting all future sessions on here! (As well as my personal posts.) There is still some to be updated around here but for the most part, it’s finished. Woohoo! Anywho, just wanted to say thank you and I am excited to have some free time to start reading and visiting some of my favorite blogs again. Much love to you all!
