morning sun.

“the path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” proverbs 4:18

Sometimes we have to wonder why things happen the way we do. Sometimes instead of wondering, we have to trust. Trust that the light will shine as we follow God’s path for our lives. Trust that what is hidden will be brought to light. Trust that God’s plan is far greater than our own. I’m not sure why things happen the way they do, but I know that there is good in His will. Today, that is my prayer. Trusting, moving forward, and walking in His light.

when life gives you lemons!

A couple weeks ago I randomly decided to make a lemonade stand for the kids and thought it would be fun to take a few photos. I used this DIY I found, and printed some free printables. Bought the crates and wood at Home Depot….Jay helped me put it together, and voila! So easy and cheap to make. I already had the kitchen scale and the kid’s shirts (from the Gap.) They loved it, and it was fun for me also- ha ha. Reagan just wanted to carry the lemons around and Beau and Leland wanted to drink all of the lemonade. Love how these photos show their personalities :) Here are a few of my favorites…

…she was a fan of the lemonade I think! ;)

Leland loves her so much, she’s his “baby” he says -haha! Love it.

…When life gives you lemons, make a lemonade stand! Of course!

…They are always cracking each other up!

The end :)

influence and purpose.

“Mothers, you are the divinely-appointed teachers and guides of your children; and any attempt to free yourselves of this duty is in direct opposition to the will of God. if you neglect them, the consequences are swift and sure….spend most of your time with your children. sleep near them, attend and dress them; let them eat with their mother and father; be their companion and friend in all things and at all times.”

“The above quotation was gleaned from a wonderful book a friend gave to me called Golden Thoughts on Mother, Home, and Heaven, published in 1878. The words still resonate, especially in today’s culture where the imagination for how mothers can affect the overall well-being of the soul of the next generation has been lost.

It’s not to say that women can’t work or do other kinds of ministry. But a culture who has lost the imagination of the importance of motherhood, leaves children at risk. Children are the next generation of adults who will make decisions from the foundations of their souls. If wisdom, righteousness, faith, education has not been a priority of shaping for them, they will be deplete of wisdom, and they will go into adulthood with sawdust souls.

So, each mom has a different puzzle, but she has to keep what is a priority to God at the center of decisions in life, and when she seeks the heart of God, her legacy will be one of faith and faithfulness and will have implications for eternity.” ~s. clarkson

Thinking about these words today, as I juggle all the things that come with doing photography on the side and being a mom to three little kids. My job as a mom is indefinitely important and I try not to forget that. In the daily, in the mundane, I know it has impact and a beautiful purpose. Not just now, but for generations to come.

“My influence of my children is limited by the smallness of my dreams and my lack of commitment to the Lord and His purposes.” s. clarkson

Hey! I’ve been a fan of your photography since I remember. Now I found out that your family’s last name seems to be Polish. Does your family come from Poland? :)

orchard blooms & grumpy kids.

It’s not every day that I dress up in a dress like this, and take pictures. But when I do- it’s in an orchard! Haha, just kidding. But really, we were going to try and take some family pictures in this blooming orchard a month or so ago but the kids weren’t in the mood. So, we got a couple photos and that’s that! Reagan was just a grump, and the boys just liked to chase each other around until they got grass stains. Maybe we’ll try this again in another year- :D

“hold hands and act like you love each other”…..lasted .2 seconds ;)

….sweet Beau! love him so, so much.

much love!

Such a beautiful family portrait…

sometimes, the words just don’t come out the way i want them to so i haven’t written on here as much as i’d like to! life is so much different than it was at this time last year. some parts are crappier, but a lot of parts are extremely better…no more post-patrum anixety- yay! that was rough. also, my parents are now divorced since this past year which i saw coming in hindsight years ago. so much change in a short period of time. life also has a funny way at throwing other things at you that you didn’t see coming. you can either let it knock you down or you can pick yourself back up, and keep marching forward. i’m doing the latter. there have been people that have come and gone in my life, people that have broken my trust, people who have been two faced, people who make me wonder what they think of me. i can either let it knock me down, or i can pick myself back up, and keep marching forward. i’m doing the latter. moving forward….in hope, in love, and in Christ.

in brighter news, some things i am really thankful for lately….

- my husband’s dreams/work ethics

- my kids (not to mention leland’s 500 billion questions he asks daily ;) )

- younique foundation (i’m a fan! and no, i don’t want to sell makeup but thank you)

- that it is almost SUMMER

- my new photography logo! (soon to come! because i still do photography- can’t help it, love it! even if i don’t do it as often)

- this song that gives me all the feels…

thanks for reading all these ramblings- haha! until next time…. xo!

I just adore you. I really love this post and I feel so encouraged because I have similar feelings.

Sending you love and light through this difficult time and season in life – it is truly amazing that you have managed to still find the positive through it all x

I also had post partum anxiety. And I had never dealt with anything like that before. My youngest is 13 months and I still struggle with sleep but other parts are better. Did you do anything to help with the anxiety?

thank you jhen!! trying to stay real, yet positive. much love to you!!

thank you so much caley!! xo

Oh, my….I tried essential oils, teas, everything. It got so bad that I went to see a cardiologist because I had heart palpitations so often I thought something was wrong with me (it was all anxiety!) From Panic to Power (a book) helped a lot- and prayer! Now, I have very little anxiety and feel back to normal for the most part. Much love to you!!

beau’s third birthday!

Beau’s birthday was on Saturday so of course we celebrated, Minions style- ha ha! Beau loves the minions and while I still don’t really know what they are, I was happy to oblige. Beau is such a sweetheart- he can be rough but he is so sweet spirited and always has been. The day before his birthday I took him to get a “big boy haircut” and now he looks so much older! We had a great time on Saturday with family and I can’t believe he’s 3!! We love you so so much Beau!

So cute and adorable baby!!!
