i write a sentence or two, then delete and start again. write, delete. write….delete. lately, i haven’t had much to say. stuck in a rut, maybe. discouraged, perhaps. i remember a few years ago i filled journal after journal with thoughts and prayers and verses and now, things are so much different. i read someone else’s blog who is now a mom and she mentioned that her writing is more shallow now. and i can agree that i feel the same. i don’t have the time to sit and mediate all the day long. i think more shallow thoughts, i pray quicker prayers….and that’s ok. this is just a season. it’s a season where i am just being. being the mom that i need to be, being the wife that i need to be, being who God has made me to be in this time of my life. it might not be all that glamourous or adventurous but it is beautiful and i am thankful for it. so with all of that said i don’t have to much to say as of late. i do, i know that i do….but i can’t get the words out. hopefully i will soon. but for now, i am going to rest in this quiet season. sooner or later, the words and inspiration will come again.

so the past couple of weeks i have taken a little break from blogging. a break and a bridal show. i’ve been kind of stuck in a rut lately and i would love to blame it on the fact that i am quite frankly, done with winter and ready for a new season. ;) (summer please come soon!) i could also blame it on the fact that we don’t really have internet at our house, just sometimes i am lucky and the little wireless icon pops up and wallah! we have internet. so when we do have it, i am usually emailing or uploading galleries.
but it has been nice…it has been refreshing to step away for a while. lately, i have been learning, reading, listening to audrey assad’s new album over and over. (love it!) not to mention, last week i was busy getting ready for a bridal show which was wonderful! i know that some photographers have their own opinions about bridal shows and the cliche’ that they may have. as well as if they work, if they don’t , etc. all i can say is that it was wonderful being able to set up a booth that was me- my brand, my style and meet some lovely brides-to-be. i was able to connect with other vendors which is sometimes hard to do when you are a shy person like myself. i handed out promo cards, my mac was running a slideshow, and i also had a sample album as well as other visuals on display. so did i enjoy it? personally, yes! it was a lot of hard work and quite the investment but it was so worth it. my dad and jay came with me as well for part of the time.

i am a little behind posting on here! this past week was a little busy getting ready for (my first) bridal show. it was this weekend and it went wonderfully! i will try and post some pictures soon. the pictures above are from valentines day….jay and i went out for a while and got some pizza, walked around the city….it was pretty sweet! he made me some homemade valentines which, you know, is so much better than a hallmark card ;) anywho, i hope you all had a wonderful weekend! i’m going to spend the day with my little one and play some “baaa” (ball) with him :) have a great day!

ok, so i don’t post every session or every wedding on here because i like to keep it mainly a personal blog but i just had to post this valentine’s inspired engagement session! last saturday i spent some time with jeremy and laura and what a sweet couple they are! it was absolutely freezing but we made it and took some photos outside (and i’m so glad we did!) i loved the valentine’s day-inspired props, the cafe, her ring (jeremy’s great-grandma’s)…everything about the day was lovely. here are a few photos from our time together….happy valentine’s day y’all!!

so excited about this kelly moore bag giveaway mainly because i love the kelly moore bag that i have! it has been SUCH a lifesaver while shooting sessions and weddings!! before, i was carrying around a huge camera bag and by the end of the day, my shoulders would kill! then i found these wonderful camera bags, and i am so thankful! while shooting weddings, i take a large camera bag with me and then i wear my grey kelly moore classic bag while shooting. i can easily fit 3-4 lenses in my bag, along with cf cards, a flash, my keys, etc. it is so easy to switch out lenses especially when i am in a hurry! i have heard of others using these bags for diaper bags or for a different type business (not only photography.) the best part is that these bags look professional and they definitely are. i love them!!
